About the Watertown Area Cares Clinic
Who We Are: Watertown Area Cares Clinic (WACC) is a division of Dodge Jefferson Healthier Community Partnership comprised of a diverse group of people committed to creating and sustaining a medical clinic to serve the working uninsured, low-income people in the Watertown Area. The WACC board is a 30 member team whose efforts are key to fulfilling our mission.
Mission Statement: We strive toward providing improved access to health-care in the Watertown area, with a focus on identifying populations that are in need and the available resources. We will coordinate the compassion and caring of the people of our area to create solutions and build a healthier community.
Why We Are Here: Research shows that uninsured people receive less preventive care, resulting in diagnosis and more advanced stages of disease. Late diagnosis results in higher mortality rates and is often more expensive to treat. This not only affects the client, but becomes an economic burden to the community.
- 9,000 individuals in Jefferson County have no health insurance
- 4,000 individuals in Dodge County have no health insurance
How We Plan to Make a Difference:
Our goal is to open the clinic to the uninsured, low-income individuals in January 2008. We nee your help to reach this goal.
The WACC clinic will provide the following services to those that are uninsured and earn less than 200% of the federal poverty guidelines:
- Physical Examinations
- Diagnosis Testing
- Medications
The WACC will not bill patients or insurance. WACC, is a division of the DJHCP, is a charitable medical organization relying completely on the generosity of donors
